Job summary

Kinder Morgan Inc. is seeking a skilled field technician to install, service and maintain valves, pipelines and related equipment across natural gas facilities in North America.

You will diagnose mechanical issues, perform preventative maintenance, read blueprints, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while working flexible hours including nights and weekends. This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver\'s license, and the ability to lift, climb

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to read blueprints.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical issues.
• Must have valid driver\'s license.
• Willingness to work overtime and in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, service and maintain valves, pipe and pipeline appurtenances, generators, air compressors, pumps, gas compressors and engines where applicable.
• Oversee upkeep of facilities and equipment including pipeline right-of-way.
• Plan equipment shutdowns, maintenance and outages.
• Oversee third-party construction/maintenance, monitor 811 tickets.
• Inspect work by contractors and crews.
• Perform pigging activities when necessary.
• Conduct regulatory/compliance activities including line patrol and inspections.
• Perform preventative maintenance on compression station engines/equipment.
• Identify root causes and ensure repairs.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Operate equipment within defined parameters.
• Contribute to project scopes and work plans.
• Represent company to landowners and officials.
• Identify safety/environmental hazards and report.
