Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking an Operations Specialist at the West Winfield compressor station for safe operation and maintenance of natural gas equipment. The role includes starting/stopping engines, diagnosing issues, and conducting routine service to support pipeline operations.

You will work with a team, adhere to procedures, and participate in on-call rotations. A strong emphasis on safety, documentation, and proactive problem solving is required, with potential shifts including nights and

Qualifications

• Ability to organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with minimal supervision.
• Active participation in safety programs and initiatives.
• Willingness to learn various operating systems and company software.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
• Ability to work in a team and take direction from supervisors.
• Willingness to mentor peers when working in teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• On-call/call-out duties and rotating shifts to maintain system integrity.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and contribute to the safe operation of Company assets.
• Train and qualify to complete relevant DOT covered tasks.
• Start, stop and operate engines to meet designated operating parameters and customer demands.
• Identify facility and equipment malfunctions and take corrective action when safe to repair.
• Follow job procedures, site work plans, and O&M policy; suggest improvements.
• Ensure cost-effective operation and efficient performance of engines and equipment.
• Review facility operations and adjust for optimization.
• Perform upkeep and maintenance of facilities and equipment, including remote locations.
• Lead pipeline pigging activities for maintenance and assist with ILI.
• Complete detailed reports and documentation for records.
