Job summary

Enterprise Products in Houston is seeking a Gas Pipeline Trainee Controller to safely and efficiently operate pipelines, tanks, and pumping equipment in compliance with DOT and regulatory agencies.

You will train on-the-job with Control personnel to learn safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and pipeline processes, including monitoring multiple pipelines, responding to alarms, and coordinating with field staff to maximize efficiency, safety, quality, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; AA/AS with PTEC preferred; military experience or on-the-job experience in pipeline control also acceptable.
• Associates degree and/or PTEC preferred.
• 2-3 years of chemical or oil and gas industry experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
• Must pass pre-employment screening (background checks, DOT drug screen, aptitude assessments).
• Team player with good verbal and written communication; able to work independently and in groups.

Responsibilities

• Remotely start/stop pumps and compressors and operate valves.
• Monitor and control movement of material through multiple pipelines and facilities.
• Analyze changing conditions and alarms and make necessary adjustments.
• Determine accurate times of pipeline events by reviewing batch listings and schedules.
• Detect abnormal operations quickly and respond with sound judgment.
• Monitor pipeline integrity and coordinate maintenance.
