Job summary

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. seeks a Controller, Gas Pipeline Trainee to safely operate pipelines, tanks and pumping equipment from a remote control center in Houston.

You will learn procedures, safety rules, and regulatory requirements while working with control personnel during training. Initial responsibilities include remote start/stop of pumps, monitoring movements through pipelines, analyzing alarms, and coordinating maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or AA/AS with relevant oil & gas experience.
• Associates degree and/or PTEC preferred.
• 2-3 years of Chemical or Oil and Gas industry experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and email.
• Must pass pre-employment background checks, DOT drug screen and assessments.
• Team player who interacts effectively with others and the public.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Must be willing to learn and develop skills on the job.
• Must work inside an office environment and be able to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe, efficient remote operation of pipelines, tanks and pumping equipment.
• Remotely starting/stopping pumps and compressors and operating valves.
• Monitoring and controlling movement of materials through pipelines and facilities.
• Analyzing changing conditions and alarms; making adjustments.
• Determining times of pipeline events by reviewing batch listings and schedules.
• Detecting abnormal operations and responding quickly.
• Coordinating pipeline maintenance and tank storage monitoring.
• Maintaining communication with field personnel, customers and suppliers.
