Job summary

Black Hills Energy, Garden City, KS, is seeking a Gas Operations Manager to lead a service and operations workforce focused on safe, reliable natural gas utility service. The role reports to the Gas Operations Manager and offers relocation assistance.

The ideal candidate will promote safety, supervise front-line teams, manage labor relations, and drive continuous improvement while serving customers and the community in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years in utility industry, gas operations, or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote and lead safety initiatives per DOT, state, and company standards.
• Supervise, schedule, train, and develop front-line employees in construction, maintenance, repair, and admin support.
• Manage employee relations issues with HR support.
• Lead all regulated/mandated work to completion.
• Respond to customer requests and deliver top-tier service.
• Support community relations and positive external engagement.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts and empower staff to improve.
• Make daily decisions affecting capital and maintenance programs, including external contractors.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call rotation.
