Job summary

The Gas Meter Tech role supports meter installations, piping, leak detection, and related gas meter work on job sites with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Responsibilities include installing regulators, maintaining logs, inspecting systems, and ensuring compliance with standards while working near customer properties and construction crews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of Residential Plumbing, pipe fitting & repair experience.
• 2-3 years of service plumbing experience.
• Equivalent education/experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Meets client and operating company standards related to gas meter piping work.
• Installs gas regulators, piping and pipe fitting work with iron pipe.
• Keeps legible daily logs and installation records.
• Cleans and prepares meter worksites to eliminate hazards.
• Maintains tools and equipment for proper use and upkeep.
• Completes work in an organized, timely manner per SOP.
• Communicates abnormal conditions to appropriate parties.
• Measures, cuts, and threads pipes to specifications.
• Inspects and tests installed systems using gauges/methods.
• Plans pipe system layout, installation, or repair.
