Job summary

Xcel Energy, a leading energy provider, is seeking an entry-level Natural Gas Materials Engineer. You will help develop standards, evaluate materials and equipment, and support safe operations across gas transmission and distribution.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Compliance, and suppliers. The position offers hybrid work arrangements with on-site presence three days per week in alignment with business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited curriculum.
• EIT/FE certification preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical standards and guidance to support safe, reliable operation of natural gas facilities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and standards.
• Coordinate projects from design through commissioning with Operations, Engineering, and suppliers.
• Provide field engineering support, oversight, and mentoring as needed.
