Job summary

Avangrid in New York state is seeking a Manager – Lead Supervisor for Gas Maintenance & Ops. The role supervises gas construction and maintenance activities, mentors supervisors, and ensures safety, budget adherence, and customer satisfaction. Reports to the Sr.

Manager- Regional Operations and works in multiple NY locations with a strong focus on leadership and operational excellence. Responsibilities include planning field work, managing crews (company and contractor), coordinating safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience preferred.
• Associate’s with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience preferred.
• High School Diploma/GED required with 10 years’ relevant experience.
• Knowledge of gas work and construction.
• Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance, labor agreement, safety manual, leak detection methods, procedures and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of industry codes including NEC, NESC, Hazmat, and OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Plans and oversees work of gas departments, ensuring safe and efficient operation of daily field activities.
• Schedules the work of line or street crews and assigns appropriate crew and skills balance.
• Administers damage claims, billing, leak reports, time sheets, and material review with compliance.
• Oversees construction office and budget management, coordinating with local/state officials.
• Coordinates safety training, inspections, and accident investigations; may conduct performance evaluations.
