The role supports the crew leader and operators, handling digging, swamping, and site preparation while using jackhammers and rotary drills to complete daily tasks. The position requires the ability to lift heavy loads, work under varying conditions, and communicate effectively.

Qualifikationen

Essential Functions:

The Laborer will work as part of a crew responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist crew leader in construction/ reconstruction and maintenance work.
• Assist equipment operators, swamping, hand digging, locating underground obstructions.
• Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other necessary tools.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump truck.
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.

Success Factors:

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
• Ability to lift to 80 lbs. multiple times during a work shift.
• Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
• Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers.
• Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy.
• English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports.
• Willingness and ability to learn additional skills.
• Must be able to properly communicate electronically via email, text messages; etc.

Experience and Education:

• Experience working with underground utilities desired.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
• Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
