About this position:

The Gas Laborer performs manual labor and equipment operation tasks to assist the gas crew in installing, maintaining, and servicing gas distribution lines and equipment. This is a seasonal, entry-level position that may serve as preparation for a Gas Technician apprenticeship. The Laborer may assist in emergency situations and will work under the supervision of the Lead Gas Technician.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with installation, maintenance, and service of gas lines and equipment
• Communicate verbally and understand signals in safety situations
• Respond to gas emergencies and service requests
• Operate equipment, shovels, and tools safely to work around pipelines and utilities
• Use heavy equipment like tampers and jackhammers for site prep and finishing
• Complete finishing work, including wrapping and coating pipes
• Work overtime as needed
• Collaborate with team members to ensure safety and efficiency
• Maintain safety standards and adhere to company policies

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License and good driving record; CDL a plus
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Knowledge of safety codes and policies
• Good safety record
• Willing to live within an area that allows prompt response to emergencies
