Job summary

Frontier Natural Gas Company in Elkin, NC is seeking a Construction Field Assistant to support planning, installation and maintenance of piping systems and gas equipment at residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

You will work under Foreman guidance on new construction and system maintenance, perform inspections, keep records and inventory, and be on-call for emergencies. A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze electrical and mechanical indicators to solve problems.
• Must be bondable with no felony convictions.
• Experience with Microsoft Office is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow Foreman’s directions on new construction activities
• Follow Foreman’s directions on system maintenance
• Maintain company vehicles and equipment necessary for job functions
• Control job inventory
• Provide as-built information for company records
• Self-inspect construction activities
• GPS new and existing pipeline systems on site
• Maintain knowledge of Operations and Maintenance Manuals and Construction Manuals
• Maintain Operator Qualifications
• Be put into an on-call rotation
• Respond to emergency situations
• Maintain company tools and equipment
