Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company offers a summer internship for engineering students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, or industrial engineering, graduating after August 2027. Interns will gain hands-on experience through drawings, fieldwork, data analysis, and a variety of projects within the energy industry.

Qualifications

Must be a college student enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in electrical, civil, mechanical or industrial engineering.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
Must be available to work May–August 2027.

Responsibilities

Create engineering drawings for proposed and existing gas facilities.
Assist with design of gas distribution projects and field work (inspection, staking, measuring, record verification).
Coordinate design and construction with engineers and contractors.
Assist supervisor with data analysis, summaries and reporting.
Enter inspections and record data in databases; update gas distribution maps.
