Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC in Helena, MT is seeking an Estimator to bridge engineering design and project execution for utility infrastructure projects. Qualifications

• Construction-related background preferred.
• Familiarity with underground electric and natural gas systems preferred.
• HBK will provide training for the position.
• Experience with cost estimation and field coordination is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates and take-offs for subsurface utility projects (gas and electricity).
• Analyze drawings, site surveys, and standards to determine labor, material, and equipment needs.
• Own the estimating phase and coordinate with engineering and estimating teams from start to final cost reconciliation.
• Prepare construction drawings and cost models using Excel-based tools and GIS platforms.
• Coordinate with field staff to obtain design information and with vendors for competitive pricing.
• Manage deadlines and estimating schedules independently.
• Assist with permitting processes and travel to field sites as needed.
