Summit Utilities, Inc. in Little Rock, AR, is seeking a Construction & Maintenance Technician I (SGL3) to support field operations for natural gas distribution systems.

You will install, repair, and maintain pipelines, respond to emergencies, and work with diverse hand and power tools in various weather conditions. This entry-level role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work outdoors daily in all weather conditions.
• Must be available to respond to emergencies during and after normal hours.

Aufgaben

• Install, repair, or replace steel and plastic pipe.
• Provide First Responder assistance in emergency situations.
• Load and unload required equipment, tools, and supplies onto and from truck.
• Use a variety of hand tools and power tools, including picks, shovels, sharpshooters, pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, bolt cutters, pavement saws, jack hammers, air guns, etc.
• Operate a motor vehicle and heavy equipment and the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted.
• Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch daily for extended periods of time and in all types of weather conditions.
• Handle emergency situations, including possible exposure to gaseous atmospheres on occasion.
• Respond to emergency calls and/or call-outs and occasionally return to work while off duty.
• Certify and don personal protective equipment, such as respirator, safety glasses, hardhat, gloves, protective footwear and earplugs on a daily basis.
• Submit to random drug screen pool required for DOT drivers and DOT safety sensitive positions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
