Job summary

CJ Hughes Construction is seeking a Gas Distribution Laborer to join our natural gas installation crew. This hands-on role supports daily field operations, performing physically demanding tasks in varying weather while prioritizing safety, teamwork, and productivity.

The position involves digging, trenching, pipe handling, and site setup with potential flagging duties. Candidates should have a HS diploma and construction experience; travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of construction labor experience preferred.
• Plastic fusion experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical labor including digging, lifting, and carrying materials.
• Assist in installation, maintenance, and repair of underground natural gas pipelines.
• Support trenching, backfilling, grading, and site preparation.
• Follow directions from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members.
• Maintain safety in the red zone around heavy equipment.
• Operate hand tools and construction equipment safely.
• Set up and remove barricades and traffic controls as needed.
• Travel and overtime as required.
