Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer III for a contract role in New Braunfels, TX. The engineer will perform gas distribution design, analysis, and project coordination for infrastructure improvements and field installations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in utility design, gas distribution, and project management, with experience in SAP, MicroStation, and related tools. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and a path for project-based work.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial or other approved engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in utility design, gas distribution engineering, infrastructure design, or utility construction projects.
Strong understanding of gas distribution systems, engineering design principles, project management and budgeting.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering design, calculations, estimates, studies, and coordination for gas distribution facility installations.
Analyze load requirements, pressure demands, and growth projections to support system design and planning.
Develop drawings and communicate design specifications to field personnel and contractors.
Oversee layout, sizing, and specification of gas distribution equipment for projects.
Conduct distribution system pressure studies and cathodic protection evaluations for reliability.
Prepare economic justifications, budgets, and cost estimates for infrastructure projects.
Coordinate with agencies, contractors, utilities, and regulators on project activities.
Review work orders and costs to ensure compliance with plans and budgets.
