Job summary

Targa Resources’ Maintenance Technician (Gas Compressors) role is based in the Midland area and focuses on keeping gas compressor stations, engines, pumps, valves, and related equipment running safely and reliably through proactive maintenance and inspections.

You will perform rounds and readings, start/stop field equipment, process permits, manage work orders in Maximo, order parts, and support training for newer technicians while upholding Safety Policies and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related work experience or more.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of natural gas characteristics, engine and compressor operations and maintenance.
• Ability to work a 5/2 M-F OR a 7/7 rotation schedule including overtime and call-outs.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Good interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams, personnel, and vendors.
• Strong work ethic with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and manage work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform rounds and readings at compressor stations and gathering/processing plants.
• Inspect equipment, perform routine startups/shutdowns and service as needed.
• Complete work permits, lockout/tagout, and participate in tailgate safety sessions.
• Create and update work orders in Maximo; order parts and manage inventory.
• Learn and follow safety policies and environmental requirements.
