Job summary

BSH Home Appliances Corporation in New Bern, NC seeks a Gas Technology and Combustion Engineer to design, develop and validate gas combustion systems for residential cooking appliances.

You will optimize burners, ignition and gas-system components, lead testing and reliability studies, and collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, and global engineering teams to improve energy efficiency and cooking performance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering preferred.
• 3-5 years of natural/LP gas system components experience required.
• Product development experience in high-end consumer products.
• 3D CAD experience, preferably NX.
• Solid knowledge of FMEA, DFMA, DfR, target costing, risk management and other engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop gas burners for ovens and ranges.
• Optimize burner geometry, port design, fuel-air mixing, and flame distribution.
• Develop ignition, flame-sensing systems, and gas-system components.
• Lead testing, validation, performance, reliability and safety studies.
• Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and global engineering teams.
