Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden is seeking a Crafters Assistant Educator for the Children’s Gardening Program at the Edible Academy to support logistics, instruction, and hands-on activities.

You will assist supervisors and educators during sessions, mentor Super Crafters, and help maintain an organized, safe outdoor learning space for participating children.

This temporary part-time position runs September 2026 through November 2027, with Saturdays 8 AM to 1 PM, and pays $18–$21 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist with logistics and implementation of the Children’s Gardening Program.
• Promote positive interactions among participants.
• Aid in safety requirements during program sessions.
• Assist with garden tasks and maintain tools/supplies.
• Assist with check-in/check-out procedures.
• Mentor Super Crafters during reflection meetings.
