Job summary

Jensen Landscape in California is seeking a landscape maintenance professional to manage commercial sites as directed by the Foreman. You will perform mowing, pruning, weeding and basic shrub work, maintaining high-quality appearance and customer service on a daily basis.

The role emphasizes safe equipment operation, punctual attendance, adherence to safety policies, and teamwork in all weather conditions. Bilingual ability is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial landscapes preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain job site as instructed by Foreman (mowing, raking, weeding, pruning).
• Safe operation of equipment including mowers, hedge shears, backpack blower, aerator.
• Basic Plant ID understanding.
• Basic hand pruning skills.
• Basic shrub/hedge shearing skills.
• Operate vehicles/equipment per Monarch Safety Policy.
• Follow Monarch code of conduct at all times.
• Punctuality, dress code compliance, inclement weather policy and sick leave reporting procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the maintenance of commercial landscapes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience

• Commercial landscape experience preferred, but not required

License or Certification

• Valid Driver’s License issued from state of employment, preferred but not required.

Specialized Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with Foreman and team members
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
• Strong commitment to high quality of work and customer service
• Ability to complete tasks assigned in a timely manner
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks
• Deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables

Physical Requirements

• Constantly required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand and walk
• Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus
• Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
• Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance
• Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions

• Frequently works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
• Frequently exposed to loud noise levels

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Ensure Maintain job site as instructed by Foreman. Possible duties include, but are not limited to mowing, raking, weeding, shearing, edging, and hand pruning
2. Safe operation of equipment, including : 21” and 36” mowers; power hedge shears; power shears; backpack blower; aerator
3. Basic understanding of Plant ID
4. Basic hand pruning skills
5. Basic skill in shearing shrubs and hedges
6. Operate all vehicles and equipment in accordance’s with Monarch Safety Policy
7. Abide by Monarch code of conduct at all times
8. Shows up to work each day on time; completes all tasks within time expectations; adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and sick leave reporting procedures
9. All other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

• Gardener with Driver’s License: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
• Gardener without Driver’s License: $19.00 - $22.50 per hour
