Job summary

Intown Ace Hardware in Decatur, GA is seeking a Garden Center Sales Associate to help customers with questions about plants and products and to write tickets for purchases. You will unload plant trucks, organize and water the plants, and provide legendary customer service.

The position is seasonal or part-time with flexible hours. Knowledge of plants and gardening products is required, along with a friendly attitude and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Promptly responding to calls for customer service regarding garden products or gardening procedures.
• Provide a positive representation of Intown Ace.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store.
• Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Unload plant trucks as they arrive.
• Organizing plants and garden center products.
• Ensuring plants are watered and maintained properly.
• Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
• Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.

General Summary

The Garden Center Sales Associate will help customers with questions regarding our plants and products and write tickets for purchases. Garden center associates unload plant trucks, organize and water the plants. Legendary customer service is the primary objective for every customer, every single time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service:

• Promptly responding to calls for customer service regarding garden products or gardening procedures.
• Provide a positive representation of Intown Ace.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.

Store Operations

• Unloading plant trucks as they arrive.
• Organizing plants and garden center products.
• Ensuring plants are watered and maintained properly.
• Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
• Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.
• Be professional in appearance and actions.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of plants and gardening products is a requirement, as well as a good attitude and a focus toward customer service. Working for 8 hours in the elements.

Position may be Seasonal or Part Time.
