Job summary

McDaniels Do It Center seeks a personable Garden Center Associate to deliver outstanding customer service, generate sales, merchandise garden products, and support the garden center team on the sales floor. You will process transactions quickly and maintain cash register operations.

You will unload deliveries, restock plants, water and care for plant material, and help meet daily goals while keeping the garden center clean and organized.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn plant and garden product knowledge.
• Retail or garden center experience preferred but not required.
• Strong leadership and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
• Able to walk, reach, climb ladders, and bend to perform job duties.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Greet customers as they enter the Garden Center.
• Answer phone calls.
• Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers.
• Maintain awareness of promotions and advertisements.
• Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and maintain cash at registers.
• Maintain orderly appearance of the register area and stocked supplies.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by store management.
• Execute daily operational goals and priorities set by management.
• Unload plant deliveries, restock plants, water and maintain plant material, and keep the garden center clean.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or changes to customers.

Job Summary

We are looking for a personable and outgoing individual to join our team as a Garden Center Associate. The primary responsibilities are to maintain outstanding customer service, generate sales, maintain and merchandise garden products, support the garden center management team when on the sales floor, process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently, and maintain cash register operations when cashiering.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
• Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and maintain all cash at registers.
• Maintain the orderly appearance of the register area and supplies stocked.
• Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store management.
• Execute the daily operational, and day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by the garden center management.
• Responsible for unloading plant deliveries and restocking plants, watering, and maintenance of plant material, and maintaining a clean garden center.
• Issuing receipts, refunds, credits, or changes due to customers.

Qualifications

• Posses a willingness to learn product knowledge of plant and garden-related products.
• Experience in a retail or garden center environment is preferred but not required
• Strong leadership and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word, and Excel a plus.
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
• Able to walk, reach, climb ladders, and bend to perform job duties

Compensation: $16.28 - $20.00 per hour
