Job summary

LAZ Parking is seeking a Garage Porter in the Baltimore area to perform daily janitorial and basic maintenance across garages and surface lots. This non-driving, full-time morning-shift role offers hourly pay of $15–$16.75 and locations across multiple properties.

You will sweep and clean, assist with repairs, and help ensure safe, welcoming facilities for customers. A HS diploma or GED is preferred; experience in facilities maintenance or customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure garages and surface lots are maintained and cleaned on a daily basis.
• General maintenance duties: sweeping, wiping down surfaces, trash removal, changing light bulbs, painting.
• Assist with facilities upkeep including repairs and handyperson tasks.
• Operate garage/floor sweeper and scrubber as needed to maintain clean floors.
• Greet customers by name and provide timely, respectful service; resolve issues.
• Provide vehicle assistance to customers in garages and surface lots.
• Assist customers via intercom, in lobbies, lanes, and parking office.
• Promote premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor.

The Spirit Of The Position

The Maintenance Porter is responsible for all janitorial responsibilities for garages and surface lots ensuring they are maintained and cleaned on a daily basis. Interface with customers, handle disputes, provide effective communication between departments, co-workers, customers and clients.

Principal Job Duties

• Ensure garages and surface lots are maintained and cleaned on a daily basis.
• Responsible for general maintenance of the garage and surface lots - sweeping, wiping down surfaces and equipment, emptying trash, picking up trash, changing light bulbs, painting etc.
• Assist with facilities upkeep including repairs and handyperson jobs (cleaning & clearing sidewalks and garages).
• May need to operate garage/floor sweeper and scrubber to ensure floors are clean and safe.
• Responsible for ensuring all daily duties on maintenance checklist are completed efficiently and timely.
• Greet customers using name, be responsive and timely with correspondence and problem resolution, and display a caring attitude, develop a rapport with the customer base.
• Provide vehicle assistance to customers in garages and surface lots.
• Assist customers as needed over intercom system, in lobbies, lanes, and in the parking office.
• Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Experience

• Experience with general facility maintenance is highly preferable but not required.
• Experience in customer relations.
• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.

Skills
