Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Garage Mechanic Apprentice in Beloit, Wisconsin. You will inspect, overhaul, repair, and maintain gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, and hydraulic systems to keep equipment safe and ready for operation.

The role requires completion of the Garage Mechanic Apprenticeship, a valid driver's license, and DOT/drug testing eligibility. Candidates with 1–2 years of technical training or up to five years of overhaul experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of the Garage Mechanic Apprenticeship and pass the final position qualification exam.
• 1-2 years of technical training in mechanical/hydraulics and/or five years' experience in major overhauls.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, overhauls, repairs, paints, cleans, greases and services automotive and construction equipment.
• Inspects and repairs engines, transmissions, axles, hydraulic and air brake systems, and other components.
• Drives a truck or operates equipment as needed and performs related duties.
