Job summary

CB&I Llc. in Houston seeks a Gantry Operator to operate a shop gantry crane, lifting and positioning materials for fabrication. This individual contributor role reports to the Supervisor and requires daily crane inspections.

Responsibilities include reading shop drawings, coordinating with operators and welders, and ensuring OSHA safety standards. The standard schedule is four days a week, ten hours per day, with overtime on weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be qualified to run a crane and operate gantry equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and material handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate gantry cranes to lift, move, and position materials.
• Inspect crane equipment daily to ensure safe operation.
• Coordinate material movement with machine operators, welders, and assemblers.
• Complete dimensional logs and document material information for QA.
• Use hand signals or radio to direct crane movements and ensure safety.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and report issues promptly.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and work orders for material specs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform other duties as required.
