MACOM is seeking a GaN RF Power Amplifier Applications Intern in Mesa, AZ. You will work with senior RF engineers on PCB design for high power RF amplifiers, including class AB and Doherty concepts.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with ADS, AWR, EM tools, and real measurements on test benches. The role requires pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with RF focus, plus familiarity with RF/microwave theory and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

Come be a part of MACOM and help advance the next generation of connectivity infrastructure!**Job Description**RF Engineering intern will work along with senior RF engineers, participating in projects requiring microwave circuit design (PCB) for high power RF amplifiers which includes class AB and Doherty amplifier design. Projects will include RF / microwave circuit design, application of matching network theory, and the use of industry standard CAD tools such as ADS, and EM solvers. Projects can also involve taking RF / Microwave measurements, characterizing technologies and devices on load-pull systems, as well as RF measurements on standard test benches. Candidate must have the ability to analysis data and summarize results.**Requirements:**• Working on a BS or MS Degree in Electrical Engineering• Coarse work includes knowledge in RF or Microwave circuit design.• Interested in working on challenging engineering problems to benchmark and improve technologies and solutions to product.• Strong communication skills**Helpful Skillsets:**• Coarse work in Power amplifier theory• Knowledge of EM / microwave theory• Experience with RF measurements (VNA/PNA, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, etc.)• Experience with RF/Microwave circuit analysis tools (ADS/AWR)• Familiarity with EM simulation tools.• Experience with Layout tools (ADS/AWR/Auto-Cad).• Data analysis**During the 12 weeks each Intern will:**• Be given an individual and well-defined project with set outcome goals• Gain hands on experience• Receive excellent training and ongoing supervision• Be invited to attend an intern webinar series• Attend networking/social events• Attend and present at Poster Session about each Interns project successes and pitfalls• Receive formal, written feedbackThe Hourly Range for this position is $20 – $47 per hour. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
