Job summary

Davenport University is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for Lansing to teach Game Design within the College of Technology. The role emphasizes practical experience, current industry knowledge, and a commitment to student success in a diverse learning environment.

The adjunct will deliver contracted courses, prepare materials, and utilize digital learning tools to support student achievement while aligning with university curricula and policies.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in related field; Ph.D. preferred.
• Minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in assigned teaching discipline.
• Minimum of three (3) years current professional experience related to teaching discipline.
• Relevant/current certifications/licenses as required by teaching assignment.
• Ability to teach one (1) to four (4) hours per class session.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated knowledge in the assigned teaching discipline.
• Teaches courses as contracted each session and proactively prepares for scheduled courses.
• Provide instructional opportunities for the entire scheduled class time.
• Contribute positively to the advancement of academics by understanding the Davenport University curriculum and preparing syllabi and materials.
• Use of digital learning technology including learning management system (eg. Blackboard) and other electronic resources.
• Conduct classes in accordance with course outlines and materials.
• Guide students in their educational progress and direct them to campus services.
• Be accessible to assist students with questions and assignments as delineated in the syllabus.
