Job summary

Lindsay Corporation in Nebraska is seeking a galvanizing production worker to operate equipment that cleans grease, scale and other matter from metal parts prior to galvanizing. You will load objects on cranes and racks, inspect finished items to ensure standards, and strictly follow safety rules while reporting hazards.

Position Summary:

A galvanizing production worker will run equipment that chemically cleans grease, scale, dirt, and other foreign matter from the metal objects to prepare them for the galvanizing process.

Essential functions:

• Load objects on cranes and on racks or containers that will be carried through a series of chemicals and rinsing baths.
• Examine cleaned objects to ensure standards are met.
• Must follow safety rules and regulations, including the reporting of any hazards, violations or injuries to your Team Leader, no matter how minor.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required by the Team Leaders to meet customer needs.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Must be able to adhere to Lindsay policies and procedures, while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Must be willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, (push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs.) and reach to perform job functions
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with conditions including but not limited to cold, heat, bright sun, noise, and nuisance dusts
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (metguard boots, protective eyewear, hard hats, gloves, ear plugs, etc)
