Job summary

Nucor Towers & Structures in Decatur, AL is hiring for an entry-level production teammate focused on galvanizing and finishing materials. You will move, prep, and track materials, work with supervisors and leads, and help ensure on-time production while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proven commitment to safety and quality standards is expected.
• Ability to be flexible with work schedule to accommodate workload.
• Maintain professionalism and open communication within the team.

Responsibilities

• Hanging and prepping materials for the galvanizing process in a safe and organized manner.
• Operating overhead cranes and/or forklifts as necessary.
• File or grind excess zinc, ash or drip marks from ends of product, deburr and clean threads on steel products that are created by the hot dipping process.
• Follow proper repair procedures of uncoated areas (how to grind & how to apply paint).
• Use zinc-based alloys (hot stick), paints containing zinc dust and sprayed zinc (metallizing) on steel products.
• Cleaning, packaging, and finishing materials after the galvanizing process is complete.
• Tracking all materials that are on site, both company stock and customer materials
