Job summary
Seattle University invites applications for a Behnke Family Gallery Preparator Coordinator. This 9-month, 20-hour weekly staff role supports installation and deinstallation of exhibitions and ensures the safety of works on view at the Behnke Family Gallery.
The position also assists with gallery operations, text preparation, and events. A college degree and experience with object handling and installation are required, plus strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications
- College graduate or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in object handling and exhibition installation.
- Experience in galleries, museums, or related fields is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Oversee installation and deinstallation of exhibitions.
- Maintain gallery spaces and ensure safety of artworks.
- Fabrication of frames, crates, plinths, and display components.
- Collaborate with curators, director, and staff on schedules and events.
- Provide information and assistance to visitors during exhibitions.
