Job summary

Explore Hocking Hills is seeking an ON MAIN MANAGER to oversee the Gallery on Main Retail Shop and Satellite Information Center (GOM). The role requires coordinating artist demonstrations, events and workshops, organizing volunteer artist shifts, and maintaining accurate retail sales records.

As the leader of GOM, you will supervise staff, ensure excellent visitor experiences, and manage daily operations to keep the shop inventory fresh and engaging.

Key Responsibilities:

• Day to day management of Gallery on Main Retail Shop and Satellite Information Center ( GOM )
• Coordinate artist demonstrations, events and workshops.
• Organize volunteer artist shifts.
• Maintain accurate retail sales records.

Duties:

• Coordinate artist volunteer shifts, coordinate daily projects, record artist volunteer hours and maintain artist volunteer database.
• Serve as the staff liaison to community artists, craftsmen, writers, and musicians with merchandise in GOM. Lead the recruitment efforts for new artists to display and sell their work in GOM.
• Reconciliation of daily sales receipts to provide reconciled reports to Accountant.
• Create, promote and manage opportunities for artist demonstrations, events and workshops.
• Create and maintain events and information on the GOM Facebook page.
• Represent Gallery on Main (GOM) in media interviews and other public facing opportunities.
• Provide news, events, and other relevant information for inclusion in calendars, media outreach, and promotional channels.
• Ensure staff coverage, delegate appropriate projects and ensure continuity of service to visitors and members.
• Maintain general good appearance and cleanliness of retail shop public areas. Change shop windows, rotate special display features, and coordinate artist merchandise rotation to keep shop inventory fresh and new.
• Monitor building maintenance, oversee inventory of sales goods and janitorial supplies and report to Director of Operations as necessary.
• Maintain brochure racks and displays.
• Monitor adequate supply of Visitor Guides for visitor needs.
• Participate in regular professional development and training.
• Provide feedback to Director of Operations regarding additional visitors, artist and member services and ways to improve GOM operations.
• Interact with visitors in person and via phone as schedule permits.
• Perform additional administrative support duties as requested by the Director of Operations and Executive Director.
