Company Description

Longview Farm & Gallery sits on a historic hilltop property in Chester Springs, PA, with 12 acres of wildflower meadows and hardwood forest and long views of the Chester County countryside. The renovated 1800s barn is now an art gallery with rotating exhibitions of local and regional artists. On the first Saturday of each month, we host an opening reception or a mid-show reception with live music. Our work is guided by three core pillars: Human, Art, and Earth.

Role Description

The Gallery Coordinator is an Hybrid/on-site part-time role at Longview Farm & Gallery in Chester Springs, PA. You'll run the gallery from show to show and be the main contact for our artists. You're on site for every stage of each exhibition: load-in, curation, opening reception, mid-show reception, and load-out.

Responsibilities include:

• Artist coordination: Handle artist registration, consignment agreements, drop-off and pickup scheduling, and questions throughout the exhibition. Show the space to artists who may want to exhibit.
• Load-in and check-in: Receive artwork, check each piece against the artist's inventory sheet, and make sure labels and pricing are correct.
• Curation and installation: Curate each exhibition, then hang and arrange the work. Artists drop off their pieces and the gallery handles the rest.
• Receptions and open hours: Be on site for opening and mid-show receptions and for Sunday gallery hours. Welcome visitors, talk about the current show, and host private viewings.
• Inventory and records: Keep artwork inventory, photos, and artist files organized for labels, sales, and our online shop. Document any condition issues.
• Load-out and reset: Coordinate artist pickup, oversee post-show cleanup, and get the space ready for the next exhibition.
• Gallery upkeep: Keep the gallery, entrance, and guest areas clean and welcoming. Report any problems with lights or equipment.
• Content and promotion: Work with our marketing team to share exhibition photos, artist information, and event details.
• Team support: Guide gallery interns and volunteers during installs, events, and shifts.

Qualifications
