Job summary

Artemest in New York seeks a Gallery Assistant to support the VP and Trade Sales team, delivering luxury client service and brand experiences within the showroom. The role focuses on operations, exhibitions, and sales support, helping to maintain an organized sample room and high standards of presentation.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in luxury design retail, strong communication, and a passion for interior design.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience at a luxury design retailer, gallery or high-end furniture sales.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Architecture or Interior Design preferred.
  • Strong communication with design community and consumers; highly organized.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; weekend availability (Saturdays).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate gallery to the highest brand standards.
  • Prepare and install exhibitions and maintain visual merchandising.
  • Support marketing and sales; manage client data and CRM reporting.
  • Build relationships with clients, architects and interior designers.

Position:

To enhance its team, Artemest is looking for an efficient Gallery Assistant to support the VP and Trade Sales team in achieving all Gallery & Trade sales and service goals while providing an outstanding brand experience and business environment for the A&D community and consumer clients. Also to ensure efficient operations of the showroom/gallery while providing excellent client service and best in class luxury experience to support the brand positioning. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and a strong passion for Interior Design.

What will be your key responsibilities?
Maintenance & Operations:
  • Perform operational, maintenance, and administrative functions as needed to ensure smooth and efficient gallery operations to the highest brand standards
  • Provide best in class luxury experience and outstanding level of client service for gallery visitors
  • Maintain & catalogue an organized and well displayed sample room
Exhibitions & Events:
  • Work on Gallery exhibitions preparation and installation, as needed
  • Ensure that the products display and visual merchandising in the gallery is in line with the brand image and to the highest standard
  • Assist with galleria events
Marketing & Sales Support:
  • Execute gallery marketing initiatives to increase gallery traffic and team sales
  • Enrich the company database through client data registration and profiling
  • Nurture positive relationships with new and existing clients, architects, and interior designers in support of the Gallery Manager and Trade Team sales
  • Use the company CRM and Excel reporting tools, as needed to assist with and report team sales
Requirements:
What are we looking for?
  • At least 2 years of experience at a luxury design retailer, gallery or high-end furniture sales
  • Bachelor’s degree (Design, Architecture, Interior Design preferred)
  • Good knowledge of the sector and strong ability to communicate clearly with the design community & consumers
  • Great interpersonal skills to coordinate working relationships with potential clients
  • Result-driven with a proactive approach to achieving goals
  • Highly organized with the ability to plan and prioritize
  • Aesthetic sensibility and passion for luxury products
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Availability to work on Saturdays
