Xavier University’s Division of Student Affairs seeks qualified applicants for the position of Gallagher Student Center Manager. This is a twelve-month, exempt role that supports student belonging and success by providing leadership for the Gallagher Student Center, a multipurpose college union and hub for student activities. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with college students and overseeing a multi-functional facility that includes office, retail, and event spaces. The ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of students, employees, and visitors is essential. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Leadership and Engagement in the Division of Student Affairs.

Job Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
  • Provide leadership and direction for the Gallagher Student Center, including managing facility reservation requests and audio-visual support.
  • Manage the Gallagher Student Center student employment program and supervise a team of 10-12 student managers and 40 student welcome desk assistants.
  • Facilitate Gallagher Student Center programming and events, including recurring programming series, watch parties, community blood drives, and local elections.
  • Develop, forecast, and monitor budgets for student employment, programming, and facility needs.

The Manager is a member of the Office of Student Involvement, Gallagher Student Center, and Commuter Services team, engaging in departmental programming and decision-making. The department supports campus activities and leadership programs, oversees over 150 student organizations, manages new student orientation and transition programs, advises the Student Government Association, supports commuter and off-campus students, and coordinates campus resources.

Job Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in college student affairs, student development, or a related role. Graduate assistantship experience directly related to the role can be considered eligible.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Prior experience supervising college-age students.
  • Experience with event planning and budget management.
  • Working knowledge of basic audio-visual systems.

This position will start on July 7, 2025.
