Job summary

Acument Global Technologies - North America is hiring for a Calibration Technician to catalog, store and calibrate gages. You will collaborate with the Metrology Lab and maintain calibration records to ensure traceability to standards such as NIST.

The role requires knowledge of gage requirements, understanding of quality systems, and the ability to interpret X Bar and R charts, with a focus on continuous improvement of processes.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret X Bar and R charts.
• Knowledge of lab procedures compliance (ISO/TS); familiarity with calibration standards.
• Able to calibrate company and employee-owned gages.

Responsibilities

• Timely compilation of gage calibrations.
• Coordinate with Metrology Lab for calibration scheduling.
• Update gage calibration records in the PC following each cycle.
• Maintain and repair manual and digital gaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate gage records and inventory.
• Recommend new gages or parts as needed.
• Follow safety rules and OSHA regulations.

Position Summary

To catalog, store, maintain and ensure the calibration of all variable and attribute gaging equipment. Required knowledge and understanding of Quality principles and procedures. Continuous Improvement of processes and products are an ongoing function of this position.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Timely compilations of gage calibrations.
• Works with Corporate Metrology Lab on the timely calibration of gages that require calibration at the Metrology Lab.
• Gage calibration will be updated and completed on the PC during the week following the compilations of each actual calibration cycle.
• Gage Maintenance-cleans, maintains and makes minor repairs on all types of manual and digital gaging equipment such as mics, calipers, tri-roll comparators, indicators and special gages. Will make recommendations to repair or purchase new gages and parts.
• Records-maintains an accurate and complete record file on all gages, calibration dates with tractability back to N.I.S.T. Maintain an accurate inventory, monitors calibration schedules for gages and updates.
• Gage Development-recommends new additional or special gages for products not measurable with gages on hand.
• Follows company safety rules and OSHA regulations.

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• HS Diploma, GED or relevant experience.
• Read and interpret X Bar and R charts
• Knowledge of lab procedures for compliance to the operations quality systems and outside accreditations. (ISO 14001, TS16949, etc.)
• Knowledge of gage requirements.
• Able to calibrate all company and employee owned gages as required.
• Able to determine gage requirements based on blueprints and customer specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
