Job summary

Ohio History Connection is seeking a Financial Accountant in Columbus, OH to join the accounting team. You will support month-end and year-end close, prepare financial statements, and maintain schedules for projects and accruals.

This role reports to the Accounting Manager and plays a key role in financial oversight. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in accounting with 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in accounting systems and MS 365.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field and 3–5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules per GAAP.
• Maintain general ledger and ensure integrity of financial records.
• Assist with annual budgeting process and documentation.
• Manage accounting for major capital projects and funding releases.
• Monitor and report on revenue streams and intercompany transactions.
• Maintain fixed asset records including depreciation and reporting.
• Review weekly invoices and provide financial analysis to departments.
• Support annual audit and year-end close; ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Develop, implement, and communicate financial policies and internal controls.
• Provide financial guidance and resolve accounting issues as needed.
• Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.
