Job Summary

Illinois State University, an NCAA Division I institution, member of the Missouri Valley Conference invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications within the department of Athletics. This pre‑professional, 12‑month position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend. The successful applicant must meet the admission requirements for Illinois State's Graduate School.

Responsibilities
  1. Under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director/Communications, serve as the primary media contact for all assigned sports.
  2. Compile statistics.
  3. Update season and career best lists.
  4. Write press releases for GoRedbirds.com.
  5. Assist in game‑day operations for various other Redbird programs.
  6. Follow the regulations and guidelines of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference or the Missouri Valley Football Conference, the Athletics Department, and Illinois State University.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$2025 monthly stipend

This 12‑month appointment will consist of a 2‑month summer appointment as an hourly student position and a 10‑month GA appointment for August to May.
