GA Pre-K Lead Teacher
Requirements:
- BS/BA in Early childhood Education, Elementary Education, or higher required.
- Minimum of 2 or more years experience in a classroom environment working in a GA Pre-K Program as a Lead.
- Must attend Georgia Bright From the Start training.
- Meet with parents, staff, and administration.
- Flexible and energetic on the job.
- Experience with planning lessons and activities.
- Ability to resolve conflicts between children.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Must be an active, enthusiastic team player.
- Ability to work a schedule that follows the school system calendar.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Please have a GAPDS account started.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, teaching, and implementing the curriculum and providing quality care for our children 4 and 5-year-olds.
- Planning and executing indoor and outdoor experiences appropriate to the developmental levels of the children.
- Interacting with children both physically and verbally throughout the day.
- Serve meals to the children.
- Attend staff development training programs.
- Familiarity with state licensing requirements.
Essential Job Functions and Physical Requirements:
- Grasp, lift, and carry children and classroom materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
- Bend, kneel, squat, and reach above shoulder level frequently during supervision, caregiving, and emergency response.
- Push, pull, or maneuver classroom equipment, strollers, and supplies.
- Move quickly and respond physically to protect children in emergencies, including lifting or carrying a child to safety if necessary.
- Maintain active physical engagement throughout the workday to ensure children’s safety, prevent incidents, and meet supervision standards.
