Job summary

Self Financial in Austin, TX is seeking a Talent Acquisition Manager to own our recruiting function from ground up, shaping how we attract, evaluate, and welcome talent while managing day-to-day operations. This role sits in our People & Culture team; you’ll partner with hiring managers, build strong pipelines for technical roles, and refine interview processes.

In-office Tue-Thu with relocation support. Base salary range: $110,000 - $140,000 annually.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition with full-cycle recruiting.
• Technical recruiting experience — sourcing and evaluating engineering or other technical roles.
• Strong knowledge of recruiting practices, sourcing techniques, and interviewing methods.
• Vendor management experience and optimizing recruiting tools and processes.
• Strong relationship-building skills with hiring managers across departments.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset.
• Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and handles multiple projects.
• Comfort with AI tools in recruiting.

Responsibilities

• Take on People & Culture projects beyond recruiting as needed.

About the role

Location: Austin, TX - in office 3 days a week (Tues - Thurs)

We're looking for a Talent Acquisition Manager to own and elevate our recruiting function from the ground up. You'll be a core member of our People & Culture team, partnering closely with hiring managers across the business and building the foundation for our future hiring needs. What you’ll do

• Own the full recruitment lifecycle end-to-end from intake and sourcing through offer and handoff to onboarding — ensuring a smooth, exciting experience for every candidate
• Develop and execute proactive, strategic sourcing plans to build strong talent pipelines, including for technical and specialized roles
• Partner closely with hiring managers to understand team needs, define role requirements, and align on hiring strategy
• Manage and optimize our recruiting tech stack (Greenhouse, LinkedIn, Built In, Glassdoor, HackerRank, Checkr), and evaluate additional tools to improve the recruiter and new hire experience
• Shape and strengthen our employer branding to attract top talent in a competitive market
• Design and continuously improve our hiring processes, interview frameworks, and candidate experience
• Ensure a seamless, well-coordinated handoff from recruiting to onboarding for new hires
• Take on People & Culture projects beyond recruiting as needed, contributing to broader team initiatives
• Build scalable hiring processes and plans in anticipation of future roles and growth

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition, with a proven track record of managing full-cycle recruiting
• Technical recruiting experience — comfort sourcing and evaluating candidates for engineering or other technical roles
• Strong knowledge of recruiting best practices, sourcing techniques, and interviewing methods
• Experience with vendor management and optimizing recruiting tools and processes
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively with hiring managers across departments

• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to provide insights and data-driven recommendations
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Openness and enthusiasm for taking on additional People & Culture projects and evolving responsibilities

• Based in Austin, TX or willing to relocate and work in-office Tuesday through Thursday

Base salary range: $110,000 - $140,000 annually. Individual pay is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, and other job-related reasons.
