Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma is preferred but not required.
• Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation and safety.
• Basic communication skills to interact with customers and team.
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service in a busy store.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
• Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Retail or supermarket janitorial experience is a plus.
• Adherence to safety standards and the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Support a clean and inviting shopping environment that aligns with store standards.
• Perform floor maintenance tasks such as strip, wax, mop, sweep, scrub, and buff.
• Clean and sanitize checkstands, counters, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Promptly identify and clean up spills or hazards to maintain a safe environment.
• Restock restroom supplies and monitor inventory levels.
• Communicate supply needs to management to ensure stock levels are maintained.
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste according to store policies.
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas such as sidewalks and planters.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies during cleaning activities.
• Report maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate manager promptly.
• All other related duties as required and assigned.
