Under the direction of the middle school principal, plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for adolescent students. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to foster a school culture conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of adolescents, ensuring success for every student. Supervises middle school students in various school-related settings. Communicates and collaborates with students, staff, parents, and the community. Develops, selects, and differentiates instructional plans and materials to meet all students' needs. Maintains records, follows procedures, and uses data analysis to monitor student achievement. Ensures proper use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities. Physical demands are as required by the duties of the job. Attendance at school meetings, programs, and activities outside instructional hours is required as mandated by the MCEA agreement.

Bachelor's degree in education or applicable field from an accredited institution, with knowledge of adolescent learners. Meets Maryland state certification requirements in the appropriate field. Demonstrates knowledge of adolescent development, MCPS curriculum, and policies. Committed to high expectations and continuous improvement. Skilled in instructional and behavioral strategies suitable for middle school students, integrating reading, writing, math, and technology. Excellent communication and human relations skills. Advocates for diversity and understands the MCPS Teacher Professional Growth System standards.
