Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Markets Group seeks a Capital Markets Trading Associate to monitor FX markets, assess liquidity and market structure, and support monetary policy operations. You will engage with market participants, translate price action into actionable themes, and contribute to FX interventions under risk-management protocols.

This role requires coursework in economics or finance, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences.

Qualifications

Background in economics, finance, public policy or related field.
Strong interest in FX markets and global macro developments.
Proven ability to think analytically about complex financial topics.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze FX markets, liquidity and market structure; engage with market participants to contextualize price moves.
Incorporate insights from FX analysis and outreach to identify themes for strategy.
Produce detailed written analyses and present briefings to stakeholders.
Execute FX trading activities and operations for clients, including FX interventions under risk controls.
Contribute to ad-hoc projects related to foreign exchange markets and global macro developments.
Some domestic and international travel may be required.
