Pay Range

$14.00/hr - $14.00/hr

Position Description

Purpose: To tutor students in specific course material and promote independent learning through study and learning strategies. Tutors will provide individual and small group tutoring, participating in face-to-face and online training.

Responsibilities:

• Tutor students in specific course material and promote independent learning in one-on-one or small-group sessions.
• Check email daily, including weekends.
• Attend all workshops and seminars offered by the Tutoring Center.
• Have students sign in and out at the designated kiosk; do not sign in for students.
• Arrive on time; arrange replacements if emergencies occur.
• Refrain from roles outside tutoring, such as teaching, counseling, advising, or financial aid.

Position Requirements

• Currently enrolled at Cincinnati State with at least one completed semester.
• Ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with students.
• Completed the relevant course(s) with a grade of B or higher (A preferred).
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, responsibility, reliability, and professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least 16 years old.
• Completed FAFSA and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
• U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
• Demonstrate financial need.
• Active student at Cincinnati State.

Hourly Pay: $14.00

Work Hours: Part-Time, up to 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding class times and holidays.
