Georgia Highlands College in Northwest Georgia seeks a Federal Work-Study Social Media Influencer to promote campus life through engaging content. You will capture events, create reels, and help manage GHC's official channels, aligning with branding guidelines.

The role partners with the Marketing team, supports recruitment and retention, and offers up to 19 hours per week at $12/hour. Candidates must be a current undergraduate student meeting SAP and FAFSA requirements and eligible for Federal

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and current GHC undergraduate student
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) currently being met
  • Current-Year FAFSA on file with verifications and any other requirements complete
  • Currently enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours (in most instances)
  • Eligible for Federal Work-Study
  • Enthusiastic about social media trends, content creation, and digital marketing
  • Strong skills in photography, videography, and video editing (Canva, Adobe Spark, CapCut a plus)
  • Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel between campuses as needed (transportation provided or reimbursed)

Responsibilities

  • Capture photos and videos at events, on-campus activities, and other college-related happenings.
  • Create reels, YouTube Shorts, and other short-form video content highlighting GHC’s student experience.
  • Develop creative content strategies aligned with GHC branding guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to schedule and post content on GHC’s official social platforms.
  • Serve as an ambassador for GHC, reflecting the college’s culture, diversity, and academic opportunities.
  • Track engagement metrics and provide feedback on student trends and preferences.
  • Partner with students, faculty, and staff to identify key stories and events to highlight.
  • Attend GHC events to document and promote activities.

Georgia Highlands College is a multi-campus, state college member of the University System of Georgia. Founded in 1970 as Floyd Junior College, it now serves more than 6,000 students in Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama across its five locations in Rome, Cartersville, Marietta, and Dallas. The Federal Work-Study Social Media Influencer will play a vital role in promoting Georgia Highlands College (GHC) by creating engaging and dynamic content to enhance student retention and recruitment efforts. Reporting directly to the Campus Marketing team, this position is responsible for showcasing life at GHC through social media platforms, ensuring the content stays on-brand and helps maintain top-of-mind awareness for the college.

  • Content Creation:

  • Capture photos and videos at events, on-campus activities, and other college-related happenings.

  • Create reels, YouTube Shorts, and other short-form video content highlighting GHC¿s student experience.

  • Social Media Management:

  • Develop creative content strategies aligned with GHC branding guidelines.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to schedule and post content on GHC¿s official social media platforms.

  • Brand Representation:

  • Serve as an ambassador for GHC, showcasing the college¿s culture, diversity, and academic opportunities.

  • Ensure all content represents the values and mission of GHC.

  • Analytics and Reporting:

  • Track engagement metrics to identify successful content strategies.

  • Provide feedback to the Marketing team on student trends and preferences.

  • Collaboration:

  • Partner with students, faculty, and staff to identify key stories and events to highlight.

  • Attend GHC events to document and promote activities.

  • High school diploma or equivalent ++and++ current GHC undergraduate student with:¿

  • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) currently being met¿

  • Current-Year FAFSA on file with all verifications an any other requirements complete¿

  • Currently enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours (in most instances)¿

  • Some prior experience is preferred but not required.¿ Job specific training will be provided.¿

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.

  • Enthusiastic about social media trends, content creation, and digital marketing.

  • Strong skills in photography, videography, and video editing (experience with apps like Canva, Adobe Spark, or CapCut is a plus).

  • Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and stay organized.

  • Must be willing to travel between campuses as needed (transportation provided or reimbursed when applicable).

This position pays $12.00 per hour for up to 19 hours per week

  • Knowledge and ability to operate Microsoft office

  • Critical thinking, decision making, problem solving within area of responsibility

  • Understanding of customer service with experience

  • Ability to follow specific directions

  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately

  • Ability to work independently on a task and utilize appropriate critical thinking, decision making, and problem solving within area of responsibility
