The New School's Eugene Lang College is seeking a Student Assistant for Undergraduate Admission to serve as a knowledgeable, welcoming resource for prospective students and families. The role supports inquiries, data entry, event assistance, and outreach, while reflecting the Lang student experience.
The successful candidate will be an undergraduate in good standing, able to work independently and with teams, and comfortable handling confidential information.
The Student Assistant - Eugene Lang College Admission plays an important role in supporting the Undergraduate Admission team by serving as a knowledgeable and welcoming resource for prospective students and families. Working collaboratively with the admission staff, this position assists with responding to inquiries, maintaining digital records, supporting recruitment initiatives, and representing the student experience through one-on-one conversations and admission events. The Student Assistant helps create a personalized and informative experience for prospective students while contributing to the daily operations of the admission office. The successful candidate is an organized, dependable, and enthusiastic communicator who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong writing and interpersonal skills, exercises sound judgment when handling confidential information, and is eager to share their experience as a current Eugene Lang student. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Admission. Priority consideration will be given to current Eugene Lang College students. Students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply, provided they have a strong understanding of the Lang student experience and academic programs.
Hourly Rate: $17.00 per hour Work Mode: Hybrid - Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.
