Post University in Waterbury, CT is seeking a Lab Assistant (Student Worker) to support the Life & Physical Sciences Department. The role offers 10–20 hours per week at minimum wage, with duties spanning setup, materials prep, and lab cleanup.

Qualifications

• Students must be comfortable working with laboratory glassware and general lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• The Lab Assistant Student Worker provides administrative and clerical support to the associates of the Life & Physical Science and Biology Programs at Post University
• The primary responsibility of the Lab Assistant is to assist with the daily operations of the Post University science labs which include, but is not limited to:
• Assist Faculty in the setup and preparation of materials for biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science labs both in the laboratories and field
• Clean up the laboratory, laboratory equipment, and glassware
• Other duties may be assigned

Supervisor: Laura Bailey, Associate Program Chair of Life and Physical Sciences & Lab Manager
Hours: Approximately 10 - 20 hours per week
Pay: Minimum Wage
Duration: Academic Year 2026-2027 (year-round opportunity)

This position requires 10-20 hours per week as well as approval from Financial Aid for Federal Work-Study.

About the Role

As a Lab Assistant, you'll help support the daily operations of the Life and Physical Sciences Department (LPSD). This is a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience working in a laboratory environment while supporting faculty, instructors, and fellow students.
