Job summary

Pacific University in Forest Grove is seeking a part-time FWS HBIO Teaching Assistant in the Kinesiology department. This position is limited to current Pacific University students and supports the Human Anatomy and Physiology HBIO230/HBIO231 courses.

The role includes weekly planning with the course coordinator (1–2 hours), assisting in one lab per week (3 hours), and grading laboratory exams and assignments for approximately 65 hours across the term. Wage is $16.80/hr.

Purpose of Position: Faculty Support

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Description: The student will be assisting faculty as they instruct and facilitate learning for students
enrolled in the Human Anatomy and Physiology Course (HBIO230 and HBIO231).

Plan: The student and course coordinator will meet weekly (1-2 hours) to prepare for lab. The student
will then assist in one lab period per week (3 hours) and assist with the grading of laboratory exams and
assignments. (5 hours per week x 13 week = 65 total hours)

Wage rate: $16.80/hr

• Able to manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with FERPA regulations and Pacific University’s policies and procedures
• Possesses good oral and written communication skills, and excellent customer service skills including the ability to work with diverse populations of students, staff, faculty, and community members
