Job summary

Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR seeks a part-time NWS- Human Anatomy and Physiology Teaching Assistant to support HBIO230 and HBIO231 through lab prep, in-lab assistance, and grading. The student will meet weekly with the course coordinator to prepare for lab and assist in one lab period per week.

Strong communication and FERPA compliance are required. This position is open to current Pacific University students; federal work-study funding is preferred but not required.

NWS Human Anatomy and Physiology Teaching Assistant - HBIO

Purpose of Position: The student will be assisting faculty as they instruct and facilitate learning for students enrolled in the Human Anatomy and Physiology Course (HBIO230 and HBIO231).

Job Duties/Description: The student and course coordinator will meet weekly (1-2 hours) to prepare for lab. The student will then assist in one lab period per week (3 hours) and assist with the grading of laboratory exams and assignments. (5 hours per week x 13 week = 65 total hours)

Wage rate: $16.80/hr

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Pacific University Undergraduate student
• Qualifies for federal work study funding for the 2026-27 academic year (preferred, but not required)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
• Able to manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with FERPA regulations and Pacific University’s policies and procedures
• Possesses good oral and written communication skills, and excellent customer service skills including the ability to work with diverse populations of students, staff, faculty, and community members
• Self-motivated
• Serves as an information source to students, staff, faculty, and community members
