Job summary

Scheels in Wichita, KS is seeking a Ginna’s Cafe Associate to deliver world-class customer service and to prepare a variety of candy, nuts, and fudge for sale. You will represent Scheels as friendly, knowledgeable, and reliable to guests and fellow associates. Flexibility is required: schedule between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Prepare candy, nuts, and fudge for sale according to recipes.
• Perform Fuzziwig's counter duties, including ice cream and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain knowledge of recipes and meet fudge production deadlines.
• Follow food safety guidelines and store products per SOPs.
• Operate registers, manage stock, and support opening/closing procedures.
• Keep workspace and dining areas clean and organized.

Schedule: Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available a minimum of two weekends a month. Average hours per week is 20 hours.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare different types of candy, nuts, and fudge, for sale to customers
• Perform all Fuzziwig's Candy Shop functions, which may include candy cases, ice cream, nuts, fudge, and other duties as assigned by the Fuzziwig’s Manager and Supervisor
• Maintain working knowledge of Fuzziwig’s recipes
• Meet deadlines for fudge production and customer requests
• Follow all food safety guidelines by Scheels, State, and Local Ordinances
• Ensure all products are received and stored according to Standard Operating Guidelines
• Ensure Scheels Cashier Guidelines are followed as it pertains to Fuzziwig’s registers
• Manage and support side work, stocking, daily and detailed cleaning schedules, including machines and equipment, and opening and closing procedures
• Maintain an orderly and exceptionally clean appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, including dining areas
• Must be able to perform repetitive fudge production processes, which include stirring, pulling, and cutting
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
• Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience:

High school education, or up to one month of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
