Job summary

Scheels Overland Park cafe team member needed to prepare food and drinks, handle barista duties, and assist with fudge production. You will follow recipes, ensure safety standards, and provide excellent customer service in a busy store environment.

The role requires flexibility for a schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays; average ~20 hours per week, with employee discounts and broad health benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare different types of food, drinks, and ingredients for sale to customers.

• Meet deadlines for fudge production and customer requests.
• Follow all food safety guidelines by Scheels and local regulations.
• Ensure products are received and stored according to SOPs.
• Maintain clean personal workspace and dining areas.
• Perform repetitive fudge production tasks as needed.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers and employees.
• Read and interpret operating and safety manuals.
• Work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.

Schedule:

Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9a.m. and 9:30p.m., (must have weekday morning availability) Monday through Saturday, 10a.m. and 6p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available minimum of every other weekend or 2 weekends a month. Average hours per week is 20 hours.

Compensation:

Earn $17.00 per hour plus GREAT Associate Discount on all in store purchases.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare different types of food, drinks, and ingredients, including candy, baked goods, and fudge, for sale to customers
• Perform all Barista, Café, and Fuzziwigs Candy Shop functions, which may include deli line, food case, barista, grill, ice cream, baked goods, fudge, and other duties as assigned by the Café Manager and Supervisor
• Maintain working knowledge of Café recipes, beverages, and prepared foods
• Meet deadlines for fudge production and customer requests
• Follow all food safety guidelines by Scheels, State, and Local Ordinances
• Ensure all products are received and stored according to Standard Operating Guidelines
• Ensure Scheels Cashier Guidelines are followed as it pertains to Café registers
• Manage and support side work, stocking, daily and detailed cleaning schedules, including machines and equipment, and opening and closing procedures
• Maintain an orderly and exceptionally clean appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, including dining areas
• Must be able to perform repetitive fudge production processes, which include stirring, pulling, and cutting
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
• Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience:

High school education, or up to one month of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
